Principal's Message

Dear Cloverdale Families:

Welcome to the 2013-2014 year at Cloverdale Elementary School. There are a few exciting and new additions to the Cloverdale family, starting with myself as the new principal. I am honored to serve you and the community as we continue the tradition of excellence in all we do for all students. I have been serving students and families for over 15 years. I began as a teacher, worked as a district coach, an assistant principal and now proud principal of Cloverdale. Go Lions!

I know that every student is a scholar with the potential to change our community. Each have their own unique gifts, and it is our responsibility as educators to develop their abilities beyond their expectations.

Cloverdale has a team of talented and experienced teachers who are determined to increase the academic success for every new and returning scholar. We will ensure that every scholar receives structured and rigorous instruction that is differentiated for their needs. Our expectations are high and we want to have a legacy of champions at Cloverdale.

There are two essential goals that I set out to accomplish working in conjunction with our staff and community members: 1. Ensure every scholar has access and opportunity to innovative instruction and 2. Parents are highly engaged in scholastic expectations.

Cloverdale is your school and we are here to serve you. We need for you to be actively involved in your child’s academic and social development. It is our intent to provide workshops and support for you to become decision-making partners alongside the teaching staff and me. We have to collaborate together so that each child knows that we are a team working for the common cause of increasing their achievement levels.

I hope that you will consider participating on our parent committees such as School Site Council, English Learner Advisory Committee, Parent Teacher Association or volunteering in our Parent Center or the classroom. I practice an open door policy and hope that you feel welcome to communicate openly with me. The entire staff will continue a positive culture with open communication between home and school.

Respectfully,

Mallanie Harris
